Destiny 2 Lightfall Root Of Nightmares Raid Launch 2

When will the Destiny 2: Lightfall Root of Nightmares raid launch?

Let the games begin

Destiny 2: Lightfall is releasing with its usual plethora of new gear, guns, and of course, missions. Most are released on day one of the new expansion, but the raid will be held back a few days. This gives players a chance to get to grips with any new mechanics or enemies that will be included. We now know that the Destiny 2: Lightfall Root of Nightmares raid launch will be only 10 days after release, on March 10.

Destiny 2: Lightfall Root of Nightmares raid launch

Players have until March 10 to get their guardians up to speed with the changes brought in by the expansion. It should be long enough for the most dedicated players to hit their level caps. There is always a desperate and highly competitive challenge to be the first fireteam to beat the newest raid. As usual, the Destiny 2: Lightfall Root of Nightmares raid will be released in contest mode.

What is contest mode?

Bungie likes to release its highly anticipated raids in ‘Contest Mode.’ This method of release levels the playing field for players around the world, ensuring everyone has an equal chance at being the first fireteam to complete it.

Contest mode takes away certain gear and weapons from players as well as dropping the whole team by a certain amount of points. This keeps the game fair and stops players from becoming the champions by cheesing the bosses. The idea is that every team that enters will get judged on skill rather than weapons.

Usually, contest mode only lasts 24 hours. This time around, the Destiny 2: Lightfall Root of Nightmares raid will be in contest mode for 48 hours. Bungie is likely expecting this challenge to take quite a bit longer than usual. I’m sure the fans can’t wait to see what horrors are in store.
