Where to find the broken slate in Tears of the Kingdom

If you visit the Zora Domain for the ‘Regional Phenomena’ quest, you’ll end up trying to help the Zora clean up the sludge infecting their waters. This quest leads you to another called ‘The Broken Slate’, where Jiahto asks Link to figure out how to fix the broken slate. The writings on the wall aren’t fully complete, and there’s a part of the slate broken off. But where can you find the missing slate?

I was also struggling trying to figure out what Jiahto wanted me to do. But in reality, this puzzle isn’t too tough at all. Leave the cave where the slate is, then turn left. You should spot up the hill the broken part of the slate sitting in sludge. If you try to get it out using Ultrahand, it’s too stuck to move.

Luckily, by now you should know how to get rid of the sludge. But if you don’t, all you need is to throw water on it. The easiest way to do this is by throwing Splash Fruit on the sludge. If you have a weapon that shoots out water, that should work too.

Once you clear the sludge, you’re free to use Ultrahand and bring the slate back into the cave. Hold it up to fit it correctly on the wall, and there you have it! That’s all you needed to do to figure out how to fix the broken slate in Tears of the Kingdom.
