Diablo 4 Season 3 finally brings WASD movement to PC players

Waaaa(sd)!

Diablo 4 launched without WASD movement options for PC players and now, three seasons in, Blizzard is finally listening and responding to the community’s wish. If you aren’t excited about anything else coming in Diablo 4 Season 3, at least you can be excited for WASD movement.

IS WASD movement in Diablo 4?

Despite being loved by many at its launch, there wasn’t a small number of PC players who were upset about there being no WASD movement options in the beginning. From the start of the game until now, the only way to get around in Diablo 4 has been by clicking and/or holding the mouse button…or using a controller, but that takes away from the whole PC experience.

Many betas, the launch season, and two additional seasons later, Blizzard is finally putting WASD movement into Diablo 4. I’m not sure why this hasn’t been implemented much, much earlier, but at least we’re getting it. Better late than never, I suppose.

When Diablo 4 Season 3 launches on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. PT, all PC players will be able to go into the settings and select WASD movement. When it goes live, we’ll have a guide to help make the process easy for you.

I’ve gotten used to the mouse click movement in Diablo 4, but I am most definitely going to be switching to WASD movement. Not only does it feel more in line with previous Diablo titles, but WASD movement is how the majority of PC games are played. I’m not sure why they kept WASD movement from launching on day one in Diablo 4, but I’m happy we’re getting it now.

I can’t wait to experience Diablo 4 Season 3, especially because we’re finally getting WASD movement. If you’re excited for WASD movement to finally be available, just you wait until we get our hands on the Seneschal Companion.
