New Call Of Duty Game Announced

A new free-to-play Call of Duty game has been announced by publisher Activision.
At present, however, the firm said it only plans to release the micro-transaction game in China.
“We’re developing a free-to-play micro-transaction based Call of Duty title for the exploding market in China,” Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said.
The publisher also confirmed it plans to release new X-Men and Spider-Man titles, as well as games based on TV shows Wipeout and Family Guy.
“This effort, although not slated for this year, has tremendous potential in its own right, but will also offer learnings that we can use throughout our organisation.
“This year, we plan to release two movie-based titles – an all-new X-Men game, tied to the feature film X-Men: First Class and Transformers 3, which will coincide with Michael Bay’s blockbuster movie release.”

“Also, this year,” Hirshberg continued. “we plan to launch games based on the best-selling Spider-Man franchise, the toy phenomenon Bakugan, hit TV shows Wipeout and Family Guy, as well as the latest release in the long-standing Cabela’s Hunting franchise. These are all strong franchises with passionate niche audiences that can achieve repeatable and profitable success.

“Finally, in just two days at New York Toy Fair, we’ll be announcing a big, broad appeal, new entertainment franchise. It’s an all-new gaming universes that brings together the worlds of toys, video games and online play in a way that I believe to be unprecedented.”
