What’s the most important thing about Batman? The villains? The brooding nature? The 60’s-era camp? If you believe this Nvidia video detailing PhysX improvements in Batman: Arkham Origins, it’s the cape.
Said video shows off a bit of Arkham Origins gameplay footage while turning on and off the magical PhysX effects so that you can see exactly how different things it makes things look. You’ll spot bits and bobs like the realistic animation of the cape, soft shadows, fog and mist that will swirl around Batman thanks to the joys of particle effects, and… well, let me quote the excitable chap doing the voice-over:
“That’s a real shadow of a footprint in the snow from Batman. It’s really crazy. It’s crazy.”
