StarCraft 2 Mac Client Now Available

Just a recently, a Mac client has now been made available for StarCraft 2 beta.Sad news for the majority of Mac users is that only North American beta testers can use the client, but Blizzard stated it’s “coming soon to additional regions.”The instructions to use the new Mac client is very similar to that of PC users, handled in this guide. Basically, if you have a beta key added to your Battle.net account, you can log on to https://us.battle.net/ (only on North American accounts for now) and “Manage Game”, where you can choose to download the client.

The client is designed to just download an installer, which will begin a Peer-to-Peer (torren) download and continue with installing as soon as the download is complete.

At this point, the same patch notes as for the PC applies to the Mac. Read more on the massive Patch 9, and the hot-fix Patch 10.

The time frame of the EU and Korean clients is yet to be determine. Besides “coming soon”, Blizzard have also said “We plan on expanding the Mac beta to support additional regions and languages in the near future.” We have contacted Blizzard for further details on their plans on this.
