As expected following the recent trademark filing, Blizzard has announced the next World of Warcraft expansion as World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor.

In this latest expansion players will be taken to the new world of Draenor and the game is also getting a visual upgrade through new character models which actually look semi-decent.

The level cap is also being increased to 100 and no expansion would be complete without new zones, dungeons, raids, scenarios, battlegrounds, and more.

“Warlords of Draenor gives players a chance to take a commanding role in one of the Warcraft series’ most crucial conflicts,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “This expansion also includes features that make it easy for anyone to jump right into the action, whether they’ve played WoW at some point in the past or are just setting foot in Azeroth for the first time.

Also coming to the game are Garrisons where players will be able to “Construct a mighty garrison: an enduring home base integrated seamlessly with the world”. This is probably one of the more interesting features to be revealed as players will be able to customise their fortress with “farms, stables, armories, workshops and more.”

To alleviate the problem or low level characters not reaching the new content, Blizzard will allow players to instantly boost one character to level 90, and this includes new characters.

I am not massive lore buff, but if you want to know what’s going on, this should explain it.

Across Draenor’s savage jungles and battle-scarred plains, Azeroth’s heroes will engage in a mythic conflict involving mystical draenei champions and mighty orc clans, and cross axes with the likes of Grommash Hellscream, Blackhand, and Ner’zhul at the height of their primal power. Players will need to scour this unwelcoming land in search of allies to help build a desperate defense against the old Horde’s formidable engine of conquest—or else watch their own world’s bloody, war-torn history repeat itself.

Make sense? Good. OK, watch the reveal trailer and check out more shots below.
