Supreme Commander 2 Demo Now Available On Steam

Valve and Square Enix have announced that a Supreme Commander 2 demo is now available exclusively on Steam, and that the full version of the game will support Steamworks. We imagine most of you are probably more interested in the demo, which contains two tutorial missions as well as two missions for the UEF faction. The announcement also mentions that the game will use Steamworks on release, regardless of whether you purchase the game online or through retail. This means that Steam will be required no matter how you pick up the game, but it does also grant you online achievements and auto-updates. It also means it’s less likely that we’ll see the game on other digital distribution services, as Modern Warfare 2’s Steamworks integration led to it being digitally exclusive to Steam.Supreme Commander 2 is due out in Europe on 19 March.
