“Awakening” will be the first official expansion pack for the smash hit title, opening up a new area named Amaranthine and unveiling the history of the darkspawn. New creatures, including a spectral dragon and an infernal golem will challenge players to their limits in this latest content.

In addition to a fresh batch of foes, there will be new character customisation options for players, such as the ability to re-distribute attributes. The level cap will also be increased, and a new batch of spells, abilities and specialisations. Five new party members also await players, meaning the adventures can continue with your existing party or players can start from scratch with a new team.

The expansion will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from 16 March. Be sure to read our Dragon Age: Origins review to see what we thought of the game.
