UK Judge Throws Sickie For Modern Warfare 2

We gamers exist in all walks of life as was evidenced by the news that a UK judge called in sick for work after queueing up for the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Ordinarily, judges tend only to feature in IncGamers news stories when they’re accusing the games industry of corrupting the young so it’s a welcome change to hear about a pro-gaming judge. The Times spoke to Will Statton (not his real name, obviously), a former barrister and currently a district judge in a county court in England, about his love of gaming and discovered he, like so many of us, wanted to take the day off on the MW2 launch day.Statton was apparently “like Charlie waiting outside the chocolate factory” and according to the Times played late into the night before feigning sickness and staying home the following morning so he could machine gun some more “alarmingly lifelike enemies,” wrote the Times objectively.
