In a continuation of the excellent trend of Japanese titles making their way to PC, Bandai Namco has announced that Dragon Ball Xenoverse will be getting a Steam release. The latest trailer for the game (below) has a Steam logo at the end, and this Facebook post confirms a PC version.

To me, this pretty much confirms that Bandai Namco’s Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3: Full Burst did quite well last year. Ninja Storm Revolution got a PC version, and now Dragon Ball Xenoverse is joining them.

Having never played a Dragon Ball game, I’m not the best person to really describe how they work. As far as I can tell they’re sort of non-traditional fighting games set in fairly open, destructible environments (which would certainly be in-keeping with what little I know about the show.)

What I do know is that Xenoverse will be unusual, because it won’t be following the standard Dragon Ball canon and will introduce a player-created player character who hasn’t shown up anywhere else in the story.

At present there isn’t any word about special PC graphics options or anything like that. This is just confirmation that we’re getting a version of the game. Dragon Ball Xenoverse is coming out in 2015, at some point.
