Diablo 3 getting new item sets in patch 2.2.0

Blizzard confirm new item sets are coming with updates to existing sets.

Last year at BlizzCon Blizzard revealed new Diablo 3 item sets and today they have confirmed they are coming in patch 2.2.0. The new sets are Delsere’s Magnum Opus, Wrath of the Wastes and Unhallowed Essence. They also mention briefly that there are updates coming to four of the existing sets at the same time but have not released any further details on what additional sets are getting a makeover.

When will these arrive with 2.2.0? We’re still not sure, and neither are Blizzard who are reluctant to announce a release date for the 2.2.0 patch. They do say that these set changes will “arrive at around the same time”. This means that these sets are unlikely to be added in time for the Season 2 start in a few weeks time. If you want to no more about these sets they were covered in our Diablo 3 BlizzCon podcast after the IncGamers team took them for a spin at the event.

The shots below are quick reminder of what the sets will look like when they do eventually appear in the game, but remember these will probably have changed by the time the 2.2.0 patch releases.

Thanks Diablo: IncGamers.
