Besides the Battle Pass, the Season of the Malignant gives players another set of rewards to grind for. The Season Journey Objectives aren’t meant to be completed overnight but offer some fun quests to complete. On top of that, they offer prizes, which is no doubt why you’re here! Let me show you All Diablo 4 Season 1 Season Journey objectives and rewards. As a quick side note, you have to manually accept Season Rewards just like with the Battle Pass.
All Diablo 4 Season 1 Season Journey objectives and rewards
Season Journey progress is split up into Chapters, and you can view your progress in the ‘Season’ tab on the Map Screen. You don’t have to finish every objective to access the next chapter, so if one looks awful, feel free to bypass it.
In this section, I’ll go through every Chapter and the rewards you’ll receive upon completion. I’ll also add any relevant tips.

Chapter 1 Objectives
- Collect 15 Gallowvine
- Collect a Malignant Heart, available after or skipping the Campaign
- Complete any Dungeon
- Trouble in the WildsComplete a World Event
- Complete 3 Dungeons in the Fractured Peaks
- Clear a Cellar
- Complete 5 side quests (marked with blue exclamation marks)
- Collect a Whispering Key (sold at the Purveyor of Curiosities)
- Salvage 10 normal items at the Blacksmith
Chapter 1’s objectives are pretty easy, so you’ll probably complete most of them through standard gameplay.Â
Chapter 1 Rewards
- Aspect of Ancestral Charge
- Subterranean Aspect
- The Aspect of Gore Quills
- Aspect of Pestilent Points
- Aspect of Searing Wards
- Greater Favor (for Battle Pass)
- First Journey Cache (contains basic herbs and jewelry)
Chapter 2 Objectives
- Complete 10 Cellars
- Collect 3 Malignant Hearts
- Conquer a StrongholdÂ
- Craft a Chipped Gem at the Jewelers
- Complete 5 Malignant Tunnels (Marked with a dungeon gate icon with a small leaf)
- Reach level 25
- Collect 15 Demon Hearts
- Change the appearance of 5 pieces of gear in the Wardrobe
- Activate 10 Waypoints
- Upgrade two separate items at the Blacksmith.
- Upgrade your potion to ‘Minor’ at the Alchemist.
You’ll complete most of these naturally, but the Stronghold is arguably the toughest. Strongholds are a drag when you aren’t dealing enough damage but are worth doing, as you’ll need to conquer more later.
Chapter 2 rewards
- Bold Chieftain’s Aspect
- Shockwave Aspect
- Aspect of Exposed Flesh
- The Aspect of Surprise
- Aspect of Frozen Orbit
- Greater Favor (for Battle Pass)
- Second Journey Cache (contains Scattered Prisms and Jewelry)
Chapter 3 Objectives
- Collect 5 Scattered Prisms (From World Bosses and Treasure Goblins)
- Buy 5 Items from the Purveyor of Curiosities
- Conquer 5 Strongholds
- Unlock 4 Aspects by clearing Dungeons
- Complete 5 World Events with Mastery
- Complete 10 Whispers
- Craft 5 Elixers at the Alchemist
- Imprint an AspectÂ
- Obtain 10 Caches from the Tree of Whispers
- Complete 5 Malignant Tunnels
- Upgrade Potion to ‘Moderate’ (level locked to 45)
- Upgrade to items twice at the Blacksmith or Jewelers
- Use Wrathful malignant invoker in a Malignant Tunnel
These will take a while to work through but ignore the Potion Upgrade mission, as you can have the rest done long before level 45. Treasure Goblin loot is usually terrible, so World Bosses are the way to go for Scattered Prisms.
Chapter 3 Rewards

- The Aspect of Decay
- Aspect of Imitated Imbuement
- Aspect of the Unbroken Tether
- Greater Favor (for Battle Pass)

Chapter 4 Objectives
- Collect 10 Malignant Hearts
- Change the World Tier
- Purify 1000 seeds of hatred
- Collect 5 Coiling Wards (a common drop from salvaged Legendary gear)
- Unlock 15 Aspects of Power from Dungeon Completion.
- Complete the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon
- Craft 10 Elixirs at the Alchemist
- Equip a Legendary Item in every slot
- Upgrade 1 item 4 times at the Blacksmiths
- Kill 100 Elite enemies
- Reach level 50
- Complete 25 side questsÂ
Chapter 4 is where your progress will slow down as many objectives take a long time or are gated behind level caps. Still, Dungeons are a decent source of EXP and gear, so I recommend hitting those first.
Chapter 4 Rewards
- Earthquake Aspect
- Lightning Dancer’s Aspect
- Coldbringer’s Aspect

- Greater Favor (for Battle Pass)
- Fourth Journey Cache (contains Malignant Hearts, Forgotten Souls, and Jewelry)
Slayer (Chapter 5) Objectives
- Acquire a Wrathful Malignant Heart
- Complete 5 Nightmare Dungeons
- Open a Tortured Gift during a Helltide
- Craft 2 Nightmare Sigils at the Occultist
- Kill another player in PvP
- Open a Tortured Gift of Mysteries during a Helltide
- Complete 15 Malignant Tunnels
- Defeat the Echo of Varshan
- Unlock 15 Paragon nodes
- Upgrade two items four times at the Blacksmith or Jeweler
- Upgrade a Paragon Glyph to level 4Â

Slayer (Chapter 5) Rewards
- Craven Aspect
- Greater Favor (for Battle Pass)
- Fifth Journey Cache (contains late-game resources, Nightmare Sigils, and Jewelry)
Champion (Chapter 6) Objectives
- Purify 5000 Seeds of Hatred
- Complete the Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon
- Defeat the World Tier 3 Nightmare Echo of Varshan
- Upgrade three items five times at the Jeweler or Blacksmith
- Upgrade a Paragon Glyph to Level 20
- Acquire 1000 Aberrant Cinders during Helltides
- Imprint 20 Aspects at the Occultist
- Unlock a Legendary Paragon node
- Reach level 75
- Complete a tier 15 Nightmare Dungeon
- Kill a World Tier 3 World Boss
Needless to say, most of these objectives are only achievable when you’re past level 50. Many Objectives aren’t realistic until you’ve got decent gear, so take your time.
Champion (Chapter 6) Rewards
- Aspect of Audacity
- Greater Favour (for Battle Pass)
- Sixth Journey Cache (contains late-game resources, Nightmare Sigils, and Jewelry)

Destroyer (Chapter 7) Objectives
- Purify 10,000 Seeds of Hatred
- Kill 5 Helltide Commanders
- Open 3 Tortured Gifts of Mysteries during Helltides
- Kill 15 World Bosses in World Tier 4
- Defeat Uber Lilith in World Tier 4
- Defeat Tormented Echo of Varshan in World Tier 4
- Reach level 100
- Complete a Tier 43 Nightmare Dungeon
This final tier of challenges will test even the most dedicated players. Most players will comfortably reach Helltides during the Season, but level 100 and Uber Lilith are lofty goals. Don’t sweat it if these targets seem out of reach, the others should be doable, but it’ll take time.
Destroyer (Chapter 7) Rewards
- “Wrathful” Player Title
- “Heart” Player Title
- Seventh Journey Cache (contains late-game resources and a Scroll of Amnesia which will instantly reset your entire build)
And there you have it: every reward and objective for the Season of Malignant in Diablo 4. For ARPGs, it’s important to remember that the season is a marathon, not a sprint (unless you’re actually racing, then ignore me!). Uber Lilith and Level 100 are brutal goals, but the other objectives are definitely achievable.
