Amnesia: Rebirth – The Fortress’ puzzles

The elevator

Once you reach the Fortress’ grounds in Amnesia: Rebirth, enter the blue doorway that’s next to the tank.

Your objective is to make it inside the radio room, but the door is currently barred.

In the next area, you’ll spot a hallway to the right with a ballista. Take the winch.

If you loop around or go back the way you came from and head to the opposite end, you’ll find an elevator.

Open your inventory and click on the winch to place it in the contraption.

Next, you’ll spot a wooden plank leaning on the wall off to the side of the elevator. Lift and place it so that you’re able to stand on it as you’re rotating the wheel.

Rotate the elevator’s wheel to reach the next floor.

The radio room and quartermaster’s office

The central room is locked, so you’ll have to loop around. While doing this, you’ll spot a cannon in the middle of the hallway as well as a well-lit room.

If you enter the central room through a crack, you’ll find matches and a large oil flask for your lantern too.

The room at the end of the hallway has several corpses and a couple of cannons.

Pick up a wheel and attach it to the cannon in the middle of the hallway.

Next, check the ground to find another wheel next to the cannon; attach that too.

When you’re done, push the cannon so that it destroys the floor.

The door to your right is locked, but the other end of the corridor has another doorway that you can open.

Quickly move the sandbags out of the way, go through the door, and run downstairs. You’ll spot an exit that takes you back outside.

The tank and the arsenal

Once you’re back at the open grounds of Amnesia: Rebirth‘s Fortress level, climb inside the tank to grab the Arsenal Key.

Your goal now is to make an explosive that can blow open the main gate so you can escape the fortress.

Anyway, the Arsenal is off to the side. Use the key to open it.

Make your way down below. There’s an ingredient mixer here so make a mental note of it.

Loop around to the left so you can enter the locked room via a side passage. You can remove the obstacles so the door can be opened from this side.

In this room, you’ll find charcoal and a grinder. Pick up the charcoal, open the grinder, and place it inside.

Use the mouse to grind the charcoal into coal powder.

Next, enter the room at the end of the corridor to see a scene of absolute carnage. Fear will take its hold on Tasi really fast here, so make sure you can light some of the candles.

Check the corpse that’s hanging at the left side of the cage and grab the key. Use it on the locked gate and run away immediately.

Amn Reb 1 Fr 5

Look inside the small room that you just opened and take the sulfur from the medical cabinet.

Grab that and take it back to the room with the charcoal grinder. Nearby, you’ll find a pot. Place the sulfur, light a match, and turn it into sulfur powder.

Amn Reb 1 Fr 6

Go back to the quartermaster’s office and enter the locked room from earlier.

Pick up the saltpeter on the shelf. Run back outside.

Amn Reb 1 Fr 7

Return to the arsenal and place the charcoal powder, sulfur powder, and saltpeter inside the mixer.

Use the lever to make a new tank shell.

Amn Reb 1 Fr 8

Make your way inside the tank and pull the lever highlighted in the image below. This will let you reload the cannon with the new tank shell. Fire the cannon.

After this, it’s time to check out Amnesia: Rebirth‘s puzzles in the Cistern.
