Is Apex Legends down? How to check the server status

Is it you or is it me?

If you tried playing Apex Legends and noticed connectivity issues, how do you know if the servers are down, and where do you check the server status?

You’re not alone, because many players like you have also searched the same issues. Here’s what to do if you’re looking to see whether Apex Legends is working or not.

Apex Legends server status – How to check for server issues

While there’s no way in-game to actually check whether Apex Legends is down for you and everyone else, how you can check the server status is by looking at DownDetector, ApexLegendsStatus, or Apex Legends on Twitter/X.

DownDetector

An easy way to check if other players online are also having trouble connecting to Apex Legends is looking at the website DownDetector. This is a live, user-reported server connection detector. If you’re having issues with the game in question, make a report, which will add to the 24-hour graph.

According to the graph at the time I took my photo, users were reporting a few issues with the server during the evening, but things really picked up in the early morning hours, and are still continuing. You can even see a live map of where in the world the issues are happening, as well as read live comments players post.

ApexLegendsStatus

This is another useful website for checking server status, but this time it’s specific for Apex Legends, whereas DownDetector is good for a plethora of video games. Visit ApexLegendsStatus for an even more in-depth look into player-reported server issues.

What I like about this website is the fact that you can see which console the user reports are coming from. In this case, a high percentage of users are reporting issues from Steam, so that can tell you more about whether you’re alone in your issues or not.

Apex Legends

Unfortunately, Respawn doesn’t have an official Twitter/X help account for this game, but perhaps you can check if the Apex Legends account made any posts about common server outages. For this current one, it doesn’t seem like Apex Legends posted anything.

If not, there’s also EA Help, which may be posting about the server issues. Overall, I find the first two websites listed were a lot better for helping me understand whether or not I was alone in my server connection issues than visiting the Twitter/X accounts.
