You don’t often interact with these Gods, but one player found a way to use Speak with Dead on the Chosen of the Absolute’s bodies.

Speak with Dead spell allows you to talk to the Dead Three Gods in Baldur’s Gate 3

It’s crazy to think about all the things players have still yet to discover in this game. One Baldur’s Gate 3 player on this Reddit post now realizes you can talk to the Chosens’ Gods. Spoilers for BG3 ahead, I’m advising you to first complete Act 2 before reading this.

After casting the Speak with Dead spell on Gortash’s corpse, he’ll let you speak with his God, Bane. They’re one of the Dead Three, which are one of your main enemies in this game. The user on Reddit named “kyuudonburi” showed a picture of casting this spell on Gortash.

They also explained that they didn’t test this out on Ketheric, and they never mentioned Orin. Since you can ask five questions with the Speak with Dead spell, I wonder what questions you can ask the Chosens’ Gods.

The first reply listed was from another user explaining that Gortash is the only one you can perform this on. This is sadly because Orin doesn’t leave a body behind, and Ketheric is undead. So it seems the only Dead Three you can speak to is Bane, since Gortash is their Chosen.

Another thing the replies noted was that there’s no dialogue during this scene. Perhaps this is an oversight by Larian Studios, or it’s intentional since you’re speaking with a God.

Speaking of interesting finds, another Baldur’s Gate 3 player discovered rare dialogue between Astarion and Shadowheart!
