12 God Rolls I’m chasing during Destiny 2 Into the Light, ranked

Prepare for the fight, go Into the Light.

Destiny 2 Into the Light features 12 returning fan-favorite weapons, all of which are incredible, especially with their new perk pools. The entire purpose of Destiny 2 Into the Light is to prepare every player, both new and old, for The Final Shape. These Brave Arsenal God Rolls do just that.

Best Brave Arsenal God Rolls PvP and PvE in Destiny 2 Into the Light

The 12 Brave Arsenal weapons featured during Destiny 2 Into the Light have been selected because they are some of the best weapons in the game. They all come with the Indomitability Origin Trait which is exceptional. It allows any final blows you perform to give grenade energy for a Light subclass and melee energy for a Darkness subclass.

If you’re like me and don’t have enough friends to farm Raids or are newer to the game so you missed out on seasons with some of the best weapons in the game, grinding for Brave Arsenal God Rolls during Destiny 2 Into the Light before The Final Shape arrives is the way to go.

I haven’t used any of the Brave Arsenal weapons, but I’m at a point with my weapon selection that I know what I want. Truthfully, I’m only excited about Hammerhead, The Mountaintop, Forbearance, Succession, and Blast Furnace.

However, I’ve included every weapon on this list and included PvP and PvE God Rolls for your (and my) benefit. From least important to “I won’t quit until I get this”, here are the God Rolls I’ll be farming for in Destiny 2 Into the Light.

12. Falling Guillotine God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

  • Falling Guillotine PvE God Roll – Chain Reaction / Surrounded
  • Falling Guillotine PvP God Roll – N/A (Swords aren’t good in PvP)
  • My vote – Skip

The weapon that I’m least excited about is Falling Guillotine. I’m not much of a Sword user in general, but we add insult to injury considering the Slammer Stasis Sword is just as good and just as easy to get. I’m not going to be farming for Falling Guillotine — I say skip it.

11. Elsie’s Rifle God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 Elsies Rifle God Roll Pvp Pve

  • Elsie’s Rifle PvE God Roll – Rewind Rounds / Desperate Measures
  • Elsie’s Rifle PvP God Roll – Keep Away / Headseeker
  • My vote – Skip unless you need a reliable Pulse Rifle for PvP or PvE

Elsie’s Rifle is now a Void Pulse Rifle. It’s the oldest weapon on this list and doesn’t offer anything too special. Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds get all the attention, but I think Rewind Rounds and Desperate Measures work best in PvE. Elsie’s Rifle works better in PvP — some alternatives work just as well like No Time to Explain and BXR-55 Battler, but it’s not bad.

10. Hung Jury SR4 God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 Hung Jury Sr4 God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • Hung Jury SR4 PvE God Roll – Rewind Rounds / Desperate Measures
  • Hung Jury SR4 PvP God Roll – Keep Away / Headseeker
  • My vote – Skip

Scout Rifles are one of the weakest weapon types in Destiny 2 right now and Hung Jury SR4 seems to come and go frequently. In general, you can skip this weapon in favor of more useful Brave Arsenal weapons, but if you’re a Scout Rifle lover and somehow don’t already have a Hung Jury SR4 that you love, go for it.

9. Edge Transit God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 Edge Transit God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • Edge Transit PvE God Roll – Repulsor Brace / Destabilizing Rounds, Cascade Point / Bait and Switch
  • Edge Transit PvP God Roll – N/A (Heavy Grenade Launchers aren’t good in PvP)
  • My vote – Skip unless you don’t have a good Void Heavy Grenade Launcher for PvE

Like every other Brave Arsenal weapon, it’s hard to go wrong when it comes to the Edge Transit God Roll because all of the Perks are incredible and synergize well.

I’m not eager to get an Edge Transit because I already have a great Void Heavy Grenade Launcher in Regnant, and maybe you got an Asosmic God Roll during Festival of the Lost. If you don’t have a good Void HEavy Grenade Launcher, here you go. Otherwise, skip.

8. Midnight Coup God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 Midnight Coup God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • Midnight Coup PvE God Roll – Firefly / Kinetic Tremors
  • Midnight Coup PvP God Roll – Explosive Payload / Zen Moment
  • My vote – Skip it unless you love Hand Cannons

I’m not much of a Hand Cannon guy (speaking as a Solar Warlock main, here), so Midnight Coup and Luna’s Howl don’t interest me too much. That said, both can be great weapons.

Firefly and Kinetic Tremors are the way to go for AoE add clear. Explosive Payload and Zen Moment is your best bet as far as a PvP Hand Cannon God Roll goes, but it’s not incredible. You can swap out Explosive Payload, which will give you more damage, with Moving Target if you want a smoother experience.

7. Luna’s Howl God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 Lunas Howl God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • Luna’s Howl PvE God Roll – Heal Clip / Incandescent
  • Luna’s Howl PvP God Roll – Subsistence / Precision Instrument, Slideshot / Opening Shot
  • My vote – Skip unless you love Hand Cannons or need a great Solar weapon for PvE

Luna’s Howl got reworked into almost an entirely new weapon. It used to be a 180 RPM and now a 140 RPM. Magnificent Howl, the Perk that made Luna’s Howl what it is because it allowed you to easily two-tap opponents in PvP, got a decent nerf.

I’m curious to see how Heal Clip and Incandescent do in PvE — I usually don’t use Hand Cannons in PvE but I’m willing to try it considering this combination. There isn’t an amazing PvP God Roll here, but Subsistence, Precision Instrument is probably the best option. Magnificent Howl could still be good and Slideshot and Opening Shot isn’t a bad option either.

6. Blast Furnace God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 Blast Furnace God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • Blast Furnace PvE God Roll – Kinetic Tremors / Firefly
  • Blast Furnace PvP God Roll – Headseeker / Rampage
  • My vote – Get unless you already have a strong four-burst Pulse Rifle.

Blast Furnace is a four-burst, hard-hitting kinetic Pulse Rifle that is great in PvP and PvE. For PvE, it gets Kinetic Tremors and Firefly just like Midnight Coup which is going to be very strong for add clear. If you want

Again, it’s hard to go wrong because there’s One for All, Desperate Measures, Rampage, and Rapid Hit. The best two PvE and PvP third column Perks are locked in with Kinetic Tremors and Headseeker, but the fourth column is flexible.

5. The Recluse God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 The Recluse God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • The Recluse PvE God Roll – Subsistence / Master of Arms
  • The Recluse PvP God Roll – Dynamic Sway Reduction / Tap the Trigger
  • My vote – Get unless you already have a Funnelweb God Roll

I already have a Funnelweb God Roll, which is a Void SMG like The Recluse, so I’m not as interested in getting The Recluse. That said, The Recluse is number five on this list because of how much I rely on my Funnelweb with my Void Warlock build.

If you didn’t get The Title God Roll during Guardian Games, then Repulsor Brace and Destabilizing Rounds is a good get here. In general, I think Subsistence and Master of Arms will feel and function better in PvE. Dynamic Sway Reduction and Tap the Trigger will make The Recluse very smooth in PvP, but Target Lock instead of Tap the Trigger can make get kills faster.

4. Succession God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 Succession God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • Succession PvE God Roll – Reconstruction / Recombination
  • Succession PvP God Roll – Moving Target / Snapshot Sights
  • My vote – Get unless you Raid and already have a Succession God Roll

As much as I enjoy Raiding when I’m able to, I’m not a player who farms Raids for the best weapons. Because of that, I’ve never gotten a God Roll of Succession or Forbearance, both of which you can get in Raids today. I also don’t have any Sniper Rifle I love and I know Succession is well-loved. Because of that, I’m going to farm for this.

Succession is one I am going to try and get a PvE and a PvP God Roll for. Since the God Rolls are so different and they can both be really good in their respective game modes, it’s worth trying for both PvE and PvP God Rolls.

3. Forbearance God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 Forbearance God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • Forbearance PvE God Roll – Ambitious Assassin / Chain Reaction, Stats for All / One for All
  • Forbearance PvP God Roll – N/A (Wave Frame Grenade Launchers aren’t good in PvP)
  • My vote – Get unless you Raid and already have a Forbearance God Roll

Forbearance is in the same boat as Succession, but it’s known as one of the best weapons for add clear in PvE and isn’t very useful in PvP. Again, I don’t grind Raids so I will be trying to get my hands on a Forbearance PvE God Roll during Into the Light.

The tried-and-true Forbearance PvE God Roll is Ambitious Assassin and Chain Reaction. If you’re in doubt, get that. However, one of the best PvE Perk combinations in the game is Stats for All and One For All since they synergize so well together. One reloads your weapon and is better for add clear, one is great for boosting your stats and damage overall. The choice is yours, but I’m getting Ambitious Assassin and Chain Reaction.

2. Hammerhead God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 Hammerhead God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • Hammerhead PvE God Roll – Envious Assassin / Killing Tally, Rampage / Killing Tally
  • Hammerhead PvP God Roll – N/A (Machine Guns aren’t good in PvP)
  • My vote – Get unless you Raid and have a Commemoration God Roll

The best Machine Gun in Destiny 2 has been Commemoration which is a Raid weapon that’s available in the same Raid as Succession. Since I don’t farm Raids, I’m going to be grinding Into the Light for a Hammerhead God Roll because it’s the best substitute right now.

The best move for PvE is Envious Assassin and Killing Tally. This gives you the best reload Perk with the best damage buff Perk and it’s a great combo for add clearing. If you want to use Hammerhead as a single-target DPS weapon, which I don’t recommend right now because Rocket Launchers and Snipers are stronger in that category, go with Rampage and Killing Tally or even Target Lock. If Bungie buffs Machine Guns in the future, you’d be ready to go with your boss killing Hammerhead God Roll.

1. The Mountaintop God Roll PvE and PvE Destiny 2 Into the Light

Destiny 2 The Mountaintop God Roll Pvp Pve
Image: Bungie
  • The Mountaintop PvE God Roll – Ambitious Assassin / Recombination
  • The Mountaintop PvP God Roll – Impulse Amplifier / Harmony
  • My vote – Get

The Mountaintop is an Exotic Grenade Launcher but it’s not an Exotic. Its original Micro-Missile Frame Perk is now its Archetype; basically, The Mountaintop is a small rocket launcher that deals high single-target damage, is great for AoE damage, and can be used to rocket jump. If you get any God Roll during Destiny 2 Into the Light, get The Mountaintop.

I can’t wait to get The Mountaintop PvE and PvP God Roll because it’ll crush in both. I’ll absolutely be chasing for a PvP and PvE God Roll which looks like Ambitious Assassin and Recombination for PvE to always have an overflowed mag with kills and each shot deals more damage after elemental kills and Impulse Amplifier and Harmony for PvP to get better velocity and reload speed and one big shot after getting a kill with another weapon. The Mountaintop is one you can’t miss out on.
