10 best The Sims 4: Horse Ranch mods and custom content

Throughout this list, you’ll find a variation of mods for your new horse pet, furniture related to the pack, and even custom content for your Sims themselves. Hopefully, after reading this list, you’ll find and download some great mods to live out your best horse ranch dreams.

10 Best Mods For The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Playable Pets

Playable Pets

Although you can have pets—if you have the right packs—such as cats, dogs, and now horses, they’re uncontrollable. If you wish to control your horses like you can control your Sims, try out the Playable Pets mod. This way, you don’t have to make your Sim order them around to drink, eat, etc.

You can now control all pets you own that show up as a household member. This makes tending to horses much easier, if you have more than one. Especially if your Sim is out of the house working, and your horses are home alone, you can still have fun controlling them.

Realistic Horse Ts4

Horse Texture

Some players enjoy the cartoonish look of The Sims 4, while others enjoy downloading mods that make the game more realistic. Take this Horse Texture mod, for example. This makes your horse’s coat visually look a lot more realistic.

As a reminder, this is a default replacement. This means that you can’t choose to have this realistic horse texture in Create a Sim, it just replaces the texture for all horses. It’s a simple mod, but it still adds nice details.

Nectar Restaurant Ts4

Ranch Nectar In Restaurants

If you own the Dine Out Game Pack, you’ll want to check out this mod. When your Sim goes to a restaurant, or runs one themselves, it’ll have an array of food and drink options. The only issue with this is that ever since Horse Ranch released, Dine Out doesn’t allow Nectar to sell at restaurants!

You can now make Nectar in this pack, which comes in many different types. Having this Ranch Nectar In Restaurants mod allows you to order or sell Nectar as a drink. It’s another small mod, but it adds to the immersion of going to a fancy restaurant and ordering a tall glass of Nectar.

Unicorn Sparkles Ts4

Unicorn More Sparkles

Not only can you get a horse in this Expansion Pack, but also unicorns! Although they look very pretty, the Unicorn More Sparkles mod just adds some flare to them. This mod upgrades the sparkly effects that show up on unicorns. They’re magical creatures after all, and what’s more magical than some visually-pleasing sparkles?

Ts4 Horse Furniture

Horse Ranch furniture

A talented creator named ‘.Objuct’ released a slew of amazing horse-themed furniture items in preparation for this pack. There’s quite the variety of options here, so let’s go over a few that I found and liked.

There’s this simple Saddlepad Rack that looks like it holds horse saddles. You can also see this Wall Hay Feeders. In the Expansion Pack, there are a few furniture items, but not enough unique-looking feeders, like this one. Also, your horse will want some of the toys in this Boredom Busters pack. Finally, this amazing Grain Storage Bin has a lot of customization options.

10 Best Mods For The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Mirror Mirror

Mirror Mirror V2

Here’s another default replacement mod for your horses. Instead of their hide, Mirror Mirror V2 replaces the eye textures. It sort of gives off a glossy look, and makes them a whole-lot cuter. Every horse should now have a bit of a shine on their eyes. Alongside the nine default EA colors, this mod even includes four heterochromia variants!

Farm Animals Ts4

Farm Animal Set

Want to own more than just horses, and maybe more than cows and chickens from the Cottage Living pack? With this Farm Animal Set, you can now care for sheep, geese, pigs, and even ducks! Just as a note, this mod was made before Cottage Living and Horse Ranch released, so it also includes modded cows and horses. Of course, you can just go for the other animals not included in the official packs. This mod even lets you harvest items from some of the animals!

Free Spirit Ts4

Free Spirit clothing pack

Some of the most popular mods in The Sims 4 are custom content clothing. If you want your Sim to dress up and look the part for running a ranch, try out this set. The Free Spirit pack includes a ton of clothing options. There are a few shirts, pants, shoes, and some accessories that fit the vibe for this pack.

The Free Spirit clothing mods come in two parts from two different creators. One part is by ‘Joliebean‘, and the other is by ‘DallasGirl‘. Both mod sets are incredibly detailed, and highly fashionable!

10 Best Mods For The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Hooves

Non-Default Hoof Colors

Unlike the default replacement texture mods I showed off earlier, this mod lets you choose from different Non-Default Hoof Colors. While you’re in Create a Sim, you can edit many of the small details on your horse, even their hooves.

Perhaps you have a unicorn, and want their hooves to be pink or blue. Or maybe your regular horse should have some uniquely-colored feet. With this mod filled with 22 swatches, you can do just that!

Farmland Ts4

The Sims 4 Farmland

The final mod is probably the biggest one on the list. The Sims 4 Farmland is a highly-expansive mod that adds an entirely new world to your game. This town called Eden Hills is a perfect place to run your new ranch.

There are tons of unique properties such as a farmer’s market, horse ranch, supermarket, and plenty more. There’s even a story going on, where you can take over a farm, care for animals, and grow crops. It’s incredible just how detailed this mod really is.
