The best recipes for magic in Valheim

There’s no doubt that magic is a late-game element. It’s unlikely that you will have access to any of these recipes, ingredients, or equipment until you have made your way deep into the Mistlands. A level 5 Cauldron and Stone Oven will be the very basics of what’s needed to prepare the recipes, and that’s before you have even attempted to do the treacherous grocery shopping.

  • Magecap (900 Seconds) – 25 Eitr. Simply grab these mushrooms from the Mistlands and munch away, never mind the pink elephants.
  • Stuffed Mushrooms (1,500 Seconds) – 75 Eitr. 3x Magecap, 1x Bloodclot, and 2x Turnips crank the original mushroom up three times more potent than before.
  • Yggdrasil Porridge (1,500 Seconds) – 80 Eitr. 4x Sap, 3x Barley, and 2x Royal jelly are combined in a level 5 Cauldron for this appetizing magic porridge.
  • Seeker Aspic (1,800 Seconds) – 85 Eitr. 2x Seeker Meat, 2x Magecaps, and 2x Royal Jelly. Apparently, this quivering dish tastes a little like electricity. Sounds healthy.

Before you start using magic, you’re going to need to actually be able to build magic weapons. The process isn’t a quick one and is a whole new challenge unto itself. A number of different tools, workbenches, and ingredients will be required before you can use your Eitr to rule the afterlife.

Sap must be extracted from a Yggdrasil Root using a Dvergr Extractor, this in turn is refined using an Eitr Refinery. This is used to craft a Galdr Table which then unlocks four new weapons and a new set of armor. The process seems long and arduous, but it is well worth it in the end. The ranged magic attacks provide a huge advantage.
