Best Sorcerer Build for Diablo 4 Season 2

Ride the lightning!

If there’s a build that has been consistent across all of Diablo 4’s updates and seasons, it’s the Sorcerer. Thankfully, during Season 2, the Sorcerer has received enough boosts to have several of its builds placed among the best in the game.

To that end, here is the best Sorcerer build for Diablo 4 Season 2, the Season of the Blood.

Diablo 4: Best Sorcerer Build in Season 2

While there are many powerful Sorcerer builds for Diablo 4’s Season of the Blood, I consider the Chain Lightning Sorcerer build to be the best one of the bunch. While the Ice Shards and Ball Lightning Sorcerer builds are among the best builds in the game in general, the Chain Lightning Sorcerer build works in concert with the Chain Lighting Sorcerer leveling build.

As you might expect after reading its name, the Chain Lightning Sorcerer build is all about pummeling enemies with lightning damage. This can be focused on single targets or used to connect this specific damage type across enemy groups, thus providing a balance that will allow this build to clear dungeons with no hiccups. Just be sure to make use of your Defensive Skills; you’re going to need them.

Chain Lightning Sorcerer build: Skill Bar

The Chain Lightning Sorcerer build isn’t just about electrocuting the life out of multiple enemies. It’s also a terrific build for applying debuffs. Shorten the distance between you and an enemy by using Teleport, or cast Lightning Spear, a great ranged attack that’ll deal big damage to multiple enemies from afar. Freeze enemies with Frost Nova and then burn them with Flame Shield. Chain Lightning will be your skill of choice for dealing with any remaining enemies. Unstable Currents should be left for more powerful enemies, like bosses. Be wary though, since Unstable Currents has a 70-second cooldown. So save it for extremely dangerous situations and foes.

  • Chain Lightning: Unleash a stream of lightning that deals 36% damage and chains between Nearby enemies and you up to 5 times, prioritizing enemies.
  • Flame Shield: Engulf yourself in flames for two seconds, Burning surrounding enemies for 40% damage per second. While Flame Shield is active, you are Immune.
  • Frost Nova: Unleash a torrent of frost, Freezing enemies around you for three seconds.
  • Lightning Spear: Conjure a spear of lightning that seeks out enemies for six seconds, dealing 15% damage per hit.
  • Teleport: Transform into lightning, becoming Unstoppable and surging to the target location, dealing 25% damage around you upon arrival.
  • Unstable Currents: Lightning surges within you for 10 seconds. Whenever you cast a Shock Skill, a random Core, Conjuration, or Mastery Shock skill is also cast.
