Best way to cheese Onslaught Tormentors in Destiny 2

It's time to torment the Tormentors

Tormentors are a massive pain in Onslaught and even worse in Legend difficulty. I’ve seen many teams crumble against these enemies, but they have a fatal weakness. Here’s the best way to cheese Onslaught Tormentors in Destiny 2.

How to easily beat Tormentors in Onslaught in Destiny 2

Tormentors can single-handedly cost your Fire Team an Onslaught match, but they are extremely weak to Decoys. If you don’t know how they work, enemies are attracted to Decoys, and you can score easy kills while your enemies are focused on them.

Out of every enemy in Onslaught, Tormentors are hell-bent on attacking Decoys. Even in Legend Onslaught, Tormentors can’t resist beating up these defensive units. With this in mind, I prioritize Decoys over every other base defense

When you have the Scrap to spare, upgrades make Decoys even more effective and are worth the investment.

Tormentor aggro is so strong on Decoys that you can ignore them while you deal with other mobs. Once you’ve defeated everything else, you can tackle the Tormentor as a group.

Should I buy Tripwires and Turrets in Onslaught?

Decoys are absolutely the best, but Turrets are still worth a purchase. We don’t have the exact damage numbers, but upgraded Turrets absolutely shred mobs of enemies. They aren’t too useful against larger targets, but their mob-clearing potential makes them worth the Scrap. I recommend prioritizing Decoys but spend your change on Turrets.

Mob density in later waves can get pretty intense, and that’s where your Turrets will shine.

Sadly, I can’t say the same about Tripwires. The more I play Onslaught, the less valuable they are, and that’s doubly true of Legend difficulty. Tripwires may be worth buying in the early game, but I typically save my hard-earned Scrap for more impactful defenses.

Onslaught is an exciting addition to Destiny 2, but don’t neglect the Whisper Exotic quest. There are some brutal jump puzzles, but it’s worth it for the Exotic Sniper Rifle reward at the end.
