Best way to farm Amber in Tears of The Kingdom (ToTK)

Nintendo will have you collecting a huge variety of different materials in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As you make your way around the massive map, you will eternally be coming across new things to add to your, thankfully limitless, inventory. Amber comes up very often. It has several uses, varying from a way of acquiring rupees to crafting new armor and accessories. Amber isn’t particularly rare in Tears of The Kingdom, but if you’re looking to farm it and have a healthy stockpile, here’s how.

Best way to farm Amber in Tears of The Kingdom

There are a few prime locations around the map that happen to be real treasure troves for Amber in Tears of The Kingdom. What you’ll want to look out for are mineral deposits around the map. They’re usually locked away in caves and require something to break them apart, such as a rock hammer or explosive. Treasure chests and Rock Monsters will hold Amber later in the game, but these are less predictable as Amber locations. The two options below are your best options for farming.

Caves

By far, the most reliable source of Amber is in caves. Whenever you make that discovery of an underground grotto, you know you’re going to be harvesting Amber. So if you find a suitable cave full of mineral deposits, mark it down and return every blood moon to farm the Amber in Tears of The Kingdom. One of my favorites is Crenel Hills Cave, a location that you will actually find is part of the Amber Dealer quest. This cave has a wealth of Amber and also contains the valuable Bubbul Gem.

Wells

Another great way to reliably get your hands on Amber is down the various wells dotted around the map. These little deposits offer an easy, usually conflict-free method of farming Amber in Tears of The Kingdom. Mark your favorites on the map and return when you need to top up.

Blood Moon in Tears of The Kingdom

So, once you have found the place you want to farm for Amber in Tears of The Kingdom, it is time to wait for the Blood Moon. Once the Blood Moon comes around, you will be able to return to all your favorite spots and farm Amber to your heart’s content.

Infinite Amber farm glitch in Tears of The Kingdom

If you don’t fancy waiting around for the Blood Moon, which only shows up every 168 minutes, you may want to try breaking the game instead. There are several infinite item glitches, but I recommend our own, which you can find here.

It may feel like cheating, but that’s because it is. If you don’t have any scruples about tweaking the game in your favor, then this is, by far, the easiest way to become Amber-rich.
