Once Human: Best ways to get animal hides

Like most resources in Once Human, acquiring hide is pretty easy. You just need to hunt animals and loot their corpse. However, if you’re looking to get a certain amount of hide, you’ll need to go out of your way to find the animals since they don’t drop that much. Every animal you encounter can be dealt with the same way, but depending on the type of animal, there may be some challenges.

For deers, I simply just shot them as they wouldn’t fight back. However, predators like crocodiles may take some more finesse. My advice would be to use a strong weapon regardless of its rarity. Rather than putting in several shots, you can do one or two.

For docile animals like deer, I suggest using a crossbow. Arrows are easier to make than bullets and can also be found in the world. However, these animals won’t fight you, they’ll run away. So keep a good distance between you and them before putting in those shots.

What is hide used for?

It’s a material that seems to be used for a lot of things. While you start Once Human, hide won’t be an ingredient that you’ll need. But it’s a good idea to still collect it when you can. As you level up your base and get more things to make, the hide will become plentiful. This isn’t confirmed yet, but you may be able to use hide to craft gear like weapons and armor.

Another important resource is iron ore, you’ll need it. Our guide can help you easily spot it.
