Bungie comments on Martin O’Donnell’s termination from the company

Earlier this month it was announced that the composer behind hit Bungie games like the Halo franchise and the upcoming Destiny had been terminated from the company without an explanation. Martin confirmed this via Twitter saying:  “Bungie’s board of directors terminated me without cause on April 11, 2014”.

Bungie gave no explanation regarding the termination except that the composer and the studio were “still friends”. Well it seems Bungie finally have something to say as the COO Pete Parsons released the following statement at a press event.

“I’m sure many of you have heard the news about Marty O’Donnell. At Bungie, we don’t take that kind of thing lightly, we don’t make decisions lightly. We’re a team that’s committed to making an amazing game, set within an amazing universe. We hope you understand today is about that experience that you had yesterday; that’s what we’re going to be focused on. At this time, we won’t be commenting any further.”

O’Donell’s music will still be featured in Destiny but right now it’s unclear who will be filling his shoes.
