One of the coolest additions in the Haunting event in Call of Duty is all the boss encounters on the map. These battles often require a little setup and are a hotbed for PvP. Events like this attract teams from all over the map, but if you get there first, you’ll leave with more Souls than you can carry. Where to find the Swamp Creature in COD DMZ Operation Nightmare
In my experience, the Swamp Creatures usually spawn in the Mawizeh Marshes on Al Mazrah. You can find the marshes to the northeast.
Don’t worry if you see the event flag as completed, as it will reset after a few minutes. This gives you time to get there and secure the area if hostiles are still around.
How to Spawn the Swamp Creatures in COD DMZ Operation Nightmare
You’ll find a fiery symbol on the ground on the island in the middle of the marshes. Interacting with it will prompt you to return with a Golden Tiara. You can find the Tiara in one of the nearby pods alongside random items and ammunition. With the Tiara in hand, interact with the symbol to start the battle.
How to defeat the Swamp Creatures
Compared to many of the other boss encounters, the Swamp Creatures are pretty easy. Multiple Creatures will spawn, and their favorite form of attack is to run directly toward you. You’ll need to keep your head on a swivel to avoid the attacks. Whenever you have a spare moment, open fire with everything you have.
The Swamp Creatures are bullet sponges and will take multiple magazines to defeat. I recommend hip-firing when your enemies get close, as you can move a little quicker. This encounter is much easier with a group as the Swamp Creatures won’t just focus on you, but it’s doable on your own.
Watch out for other players
The biggest threat you’ll face in this encounter is from other players. Swamp Creatures don’t hit particularly hard, and you have plenty of room to maneuver. The problem is that the fight will make a ton of noise, and any nearby players can easily figure out what’s happening. You’re an easy target when you’re preoccupied, so try to finish the fight and leave as soon as possible.
Are there any rewards for defeating the Swamp Creatures?
I couldn’t find anything special when I beat the encounter, but a hefty amount of Souls appeared after the fight. As these can be traded for limited-time items, the Swamp Creatures are well worth the risk.
