Cities: Skylines free DLC details emerge

Paradox and Colossal Order are committed to adding free content, and it’s in the works.

It’s no secret that Colossal Order will be releasing free DLC for Cities: Skylines, and a few details on what to expect have surfaced in an interview with PC Gamer. According to Colossal Order CEO Mariina Hallikainen, the expected tunnels update (which has been previously mentioned) will be released free along with European buildings.

“The tunnels and the European buildings we already discussed that these would be free updates, because I very strongly feel that the tunnels, for example, should have—I feel it’s a part of the game.”

The fantastic sales of Cities: Skylines has surprised Colossal Order’s small team of 13 developers, but now that the cash has come in, Paradox has committed to the game with further backing for mod tools, DLC and expansions, released in a similar fashion to Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis IV.

Modding has really given Cities: Skylines a boost and Maxis (RIP) must be frustrated that they discouraged modding so heavily when SimCity was released. That was just one of the many problems with SimCity but thankfully Colossal Order has jumped in to satisfy city builder fans with this great game.

Thanks SkylinesCity.
