Following a showcase earlier today, Behaviour Interactive and developer Psyops announced a surprise launch of the Dead by Daylight dating sim. Hooked on You sends you to Murderer’s Island where you rub elbows and try to swoon some of DBD‘s blood-soaked killers. You will laugh, you will cry, and, hopefully, you won’t die.
That is certainly the crux of Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim. You’re able to match up with four killers from the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game: The Trapper, The Spirit, The Wraith, and The Huntress. As per the norm with dating sims, you engage in conversations with these creepy, delightful monsters in a choice-based dialogue system.
Chatting with the killers will often lead them to asking you personal questions. Get the answers right and increase your chances of forging an epic island romance. Get them wrong? Well, you might not want to get them wrong. I mean, your life might be on the line, here. In the accompanying trailer, we see a conversation with The Spirit, who appears to be asking about the player’s favorite classic horror novel. While I’m hardly an expert on bewitching nightmarish ghouls from the beyond, I’d probably not go with the answer: “Books? No thanks.” That’s a pretty weak choice of final words, if you ask me.
