A new trailer for Dead Space 2 has been released, featuring the ever-creepy nursery rhyme Ring a Ring o’ Roses (or Ring Around the Rosie, if you prefer.)
Yep, it’s sung in a slow, menacing way which is cliched as hell, but I don’t care. That damn song is still creepy – every single time. Even if it isn’t a reference to the London plague or Black Death (which it probably isn’t, because that explanation originated a long time after the first recorded use of the song.) It still might be though. And that’s eerie.
Bonus points go to this video for not doing the much weaker trick of putting a monster going ‘bleerg!’ at the very end after a few moments of silence. That got pretty boring around 1985.
