Destiny 2 Mission Control Triumph Guide

Destiny 2: How to complete Mission Control Triumph

Good luck with this one.

Mission Control is one of the hardest Triumphs to unlock in Destiny 2. It requires skill in Crucible, which is already asking a lot let’s be honest.

But even more than that, you’ll need some good luck to be able to pull it off. But since we’re all working to unlock that coveted Deadeye Medal, we all need to finish this Triumph sooner or later. So here is some advice for completing Mission Control in Destiny 2.

Tips on completing Mission Control in Destiny 2

Mission Control is part of a larger Triumph called Sniper Rifle Mastery. It requires you to get 100 Final Blows with Sniper Rifles in Crucible, 30 Precision Kills with Sniper Rifles, and finally the Mission Control medal. Mission Control itself requires you to defeat two opponents with Sniper Rifle final blows without switching weapons or reloading in Crucible. Plus you need to be at long range for the kills to count, so point blank shots will not cut it. Also as a side note, accomplishing this in Iron Banner will not trigger the Medal to activate. So make sure you play a standard Crucible mode like Control.

So this is already quite a challenging problem to solve but there are ways to make Mission Control slightly easier. The first way is by using a Sniper Rifle you’re comfortable with. But if you tend not to use them at all, I’d recommend Izanagi’s Burden for the additional range and damage perk, Beloved, or Mechabre. If you’re using a Legendary weapon, be sure to apply the Backup Mag mod for more chances to shoot before reloading. And you can get Mecharbe right now by participating in the Festival of the Lost

The next bit of advice I have is to avoid certain maps in Crucible. You don’t want to try this on a tightly-spaced map since you won’t get enough range to trigger the Triumph. So I would recommend trying this on Disjunction, Exodus Blue, or Fragment since each should have long enough zones. But since the Medal doesn’t specify a range it can be tricky to know how far you need to be. To be on the safe side, just stay as far away from your targets as possible. And if you get the two kills and still don’t get the medal, move even further back.

Once everything is ready, the only thing you can do is have patience and keep practicing. The Mission Control Medal is a seriously tricky one to get in Destiny 2. But the difficulty is something everyone can agree on. And once you finally manage to do it you’ll be one step closer to flaunting your new Deadeye Title.
