Destiny 2 Malediction Guide

Destiny 2: How to get Malediction

One more for the collection.

Malediction is a new Hand Cannon in Destiny 2 that is new for Season 22. It joins an already illustrious weapon class in the game that has plenty of heavy hitters as it is. While it may be a little too soon to see where the Malediction falls in the rankings, this is still a gun you’re going to want to grind for. And this is unfortunately going to be a grind indeed. Here’s how you can get yourself the Malediction in Destiny 2.

How to acquire the Malediction in Destiny 2

The Malediction can be found as a Rank Reward with Lord Shaxx, Zavala, or The Drifter. It is the Rank 16 reward for each vendor, and you gain points for doing their respective activities. So that’d be Crucible for Shaxx, Vanguard Ops for Zavala, and Gambit for the Drifter. If you’ve ever grinded through these ranks in the past you know it can take a long time. But Destiny 2 is all about working through that repetition for the cool rewards anyway.

What makes the grind even more repetitive is the fact that you’ll need to stick to one of these activities to get through the rankings quicker. So prepare to play a lot of Crucible or Strikes if you want to get this Hand Cannon sooner rather than later. For me, I found the quickest way to get the Malediction to be grinding through the Crucible and playing a handful of matches every day. Of course, if you aren’t a fan of PvP, you can also stick to Vanguard Ops and play through a bunch of Strikes too. Just make sure you stick to one or the other if you want to get the Malediction as fast as you can in Destiny 2.

Each vendor has an identical version of the Malediction that is Masterworked, so don’t worry about losing out on any perks as it all comes with the same stuff. Malediction will have the following perks:

  • Fluted Barrel
  • Flared Magwell
  • Discord or Enlightened Action
  • Harmony or Explosive Payload
  • Wild Card, Vanguard’s Vindication, One Quiet Moment, or Gun and Run

We don’t know how good Malediction performs yet but knowing Destiny 2 the meta could favor Hand Cannons next season. So while you’ve got the time be sure to grind through these activities and get the Malediction yourself.
