One of the best Strand weapons.

Rufus’s Fury is one of the older Strand weapons that was introduced back in Season 20. This Strand Auto Rifle can pack a punch, but getting it is no easy feat. Here’s how you can get the Rufus’s Fury for yourself in Destiny 2.

Where to find Rufus’s Fury in Destiny 2

The bad news is that Rufus’s Fury can only be found in the Root of Nightmares raid as part of the Lightfall expansion. In this raid you’ll be going up against Nezarec, the Final God of Pain and plenty of his minions. The raid itself is pretty cool, but if you aren’t someone that groups up to do raids very often then you’ll likely struggle to get the gun.

If you do want to try and grind for Rufus’s Fury in Destiny 2, you can get the gun by defeating either Zo’ Aurc, Explicator of Planets, or Nezarec himself. That means you get two chances for the gun to drop which isn’t a lot to work with admittedly. But getting the weapon just once will allow you to reroll the weapon with your Spoil of Conquest currency at the final chest of the raid. So you have plenty of chances to reroll the gun and get the perks you want.

Rufus’s Fury God Roll

Rufus’s Fury has plenty of perks that are worth looking out for. But the best combo of perks utilises the strengths of the weapon’s already large magazine and stability. Here are the best perks to get for Rufus’s Fury:

  • Arrowhead Brake or Smallbore
  • High-Caliber Rounds or Ricochet Rounds
  • Reconstruction
  • Target Lock

The perks that do the most heavy lifting for Rufus’s Fury are Reconstruction and Target Lock. Reconstruction lets the weapon slowly reload itself over time, with it refilling by 10% whenever its in reserve every four seconds. These refills can even go past the usual maximum of the magazine, effectively doubling your ammo count before you need to reload. Target Lock increases your damage the longer the weapon the remains on the target. So if you’ve got a large magazine and are pumping a ton of rounds into a target, you’ll end up doing a lot of damage.

Rufus’s Fury is a bit awkward to get for yourself. But it’s definitely one of the better Auto Rifles in Destiny 2 at the moment, especially for players that like guns with large ammo counts.
