Destiny 2 Season of the Wish: Start and end dates and times, explained

On November 7, 2023, Bungie revealed that Destiny 2 Season 23 is called Season of the Wish and it starts on November 28, 2023. The start time for the new season is whenever the Tuesday weekly maintenance is over, so about an hour or two after 10 a.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. CEST.

Since Destiny 2 seasons are usually around 10 weeks long, what makes Season of the Wish different is it’ll last for around seven months. Because The Final Shape got delayed and there are big changes at Bungie, they are giving us a Season of the Lost 2.0 that lasts several months. It’s a major dry spell that I for one am not looking forward to.

The only thing we know about Destiny 2 Season of the Wish is the release date. From the cover image and context, we do know that this season is Taken-themed and the story will likely have us using the 15 wish to find passage through The Traveler and to The Witness.

Every season has one or two specific seasonal activities which are new game modes we get to enjoy. Seas of the Wish will definitely have these, we just don’t know what they are yet. All we know is we’ll be hanging out around The Dreaming City.

What are the Exotics in Destiny 2 Season of the Wish?

As is the case with the seasonal activities, we don’t currently know what Exotics are coming in Season of the Wish. We do know that every season, each class gets one new Exotic armor that’s acquired through Lost Sectors. There’s also usually a new Exotic weapon or two.

Since Destiny 2 Season of the Wish is extra long, I hope Bungie will sprinkle in even more Exotic weapons and armor throughout the season to satiate us. The Navigator was a unique Exotic hidden behind fishing in Season of the Deep and Vexcalibur came out of nowhere and featured an Exotic Mission. I hope we get something like that in Season of the Wish.
