This announcement comes hot on the heels of a mass account banning session yesterday by Blizzard where some of the top ranked players found to be cheating have been removed from the leaderboards and accounts banned. This appears to have taken place in all regions.

The community has been calling for more bans on the leaderboards so at least Blizzard is trying to do something about the botters ahead of Season 9 concluding later this month.

Blizzard has now posted the end date for the current Season and the start date for the new season which is as follows:

Season 9 will be ending on the following dates and times:

  • North America: Friday, March 17 @ 5:00 p.m. PDT
  • Europe: Friday, March 17 @ 5:00 p.m. CET
  • Asia: Friday, March 17 @ 5:00 p.m. KST

Season 10 will begin about two weeks afterward on these dates:

  • North America: Friday, March 31 @ 5:00 p.m. PDT
  • Europe: Friday, March 31 @ 5:00 p.m. CET
  • Asia: Friday, March 31 @ 5:00 p.m. KST

It’s also worth pointing out that March is the Kanai’s Skorn event which will be of interest to anyone into changing their relevant Diablo 3 items to Kanai’s Skorn with transmog. You can find out more about that on this Diabloii.Net page.
