Approaching a crocodile is the first obstacle. You have to watch their animations closely. When a crocodile’s head is up, you can’t move closer, or they’ll run away. But when they lower their head, inch closer. This takes concentration and careful keyboard movements, but once the crocodile rolls over onto their belly, you are safe to approach and feed them. After doing it once, you’ll be able to approach the same crocodile again immediately if it hasn’t been too long.

Crocodiles like seafood from the Glade of Trust and will eat any of it. However, their favorite food that’ll raise their standing with you fastest is lobster. Lobster is caught from golden ripples in the waters of the Glade of Trust with the fishing rod. You’ll need to learn how to catch them early on as they’re important for several quests and recipes in the game.

Fortunately, the Glade of Trust has quite a lot of water for fishing ripples to spawn in. You may not immediately spawn a golden ripple, but keep fishing until one appears. Have a villager whose specialty is fishing hanging out with you for a good chance of getting two lobsters at once.

With the right seafood in hand and the strategy to approach a crocodile, you have to keep feeding them daily until they become a companion option in the outfit menu. There are six different crocodile types: white, blue, the classic green, golden, pink, and red. Of these, the pink and white versions are rarest, only spawning at 6 PM to 12 AM on Saturday and Sunday respectively. They’ll take a while to obtain as companions compared to their other critter variations.

So now that you know what to feed crocodiles in Disney Dreamlight Valley, get the rod ready for lobster. We’re going to need a lot of it to get ourselves some tiny ‘dile companions.
