Once Human: Does beta progress carry over to launch?

Simply put, Once Human beta progression does not carry over to the full release. This information comes directly from the developers of Starry Studios on the Once Human website.

Under the FAQ page, it strictly states, “All accounts used during this beta will be deleted after this test and cannot be inherited in any future tests.” You can check out the answer yourself by heading over to the Once Human FAQ page. Keep in mind that the page is dedicated to the first PC beta test, but since nothing has been updated since then, we can only assume that the same answers apply to the current beta.

It’s definitely a huge bummer that beta progression won’t carry over, but it makes sense why this is the case. The main reason for a beta, or playtests, for video games is to get feedback from the community so developers can make adjustments and improve the overall quality of the game. These adjustments can be so large that keeping progression may not even be possible.

Also, removing the ability to carry over beta progression allows the player to start from scratch when the final version of the game is at its absolute best. In other words, developers want you to experience their game from scratch when it’s in its best form. Well, that’s how I view it anyway.

When does Once Human officially release?

At the time of writing, there is no official release date for Once Human. According to Steam, the game is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2024. That said, it is possible that the timeframe can change depending on how well the beta performs, additions the developers may want to add, etc.

While you wait until its full release, try to make the most out of the beta. You can do this by learning the map, playing with friends, and leveling up. Check out our guide on how to level up fast in Once Human so you can reach the max level!
