Elden Ring: How to reach Mohgwyn Palace (secret area)

Mohg for the Mohg God!
Elden Ring Mohgwyn Palace Mohg The Omen Secret Area

Mohgwyn Palace is, you guessed it, another secret area in Elden Ring. At this rate, there will be more secret areas than regular areas in the game. I digress. Point is, you’re going to have to search a bit to get to this location. Here’s our Elden Ring guide to help you reach the Mohgwyn Palace secret area. It will, eventually, lead to a battle against Mohg the Omen.

Elden Ring guide – How to reach the Mohgwyn Palace secret area

To get to the Mohgwyn Palace secret area in Elden Ring, you’ll need to have access to the Consecrated Snowfield. This is done by obtaining both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion. With it, you’ll be able to use a second command when operating the Grand Lift of Rold, taking you to the Consecrated Snowfield instead of the Mountaintops of the Giants.

As for the location itself, we’ll need to find a teleporter. If Ordina Liturgical Town is all the way north, then this one is tucked away just northwest of the Yelough Anix Tunnel (it’s the closest bonfire). What you’re looking for is a large tree on the horizon, and you’ll know you’re near your quarry because a Sanguine Noble NPC will attack you.

After eliminating it, look below the cliffs to find the teleporter. Activate it to find yourself in a new location.

Welcome to the Mohgwyn Palace secret area in Elden Ring. There’s a bonfire down the ledges and the castle is further ahead. To get there, look to your right and follow the blood river as it loops around.

Be careful because there are lots of enemies here, including a couple of Behemoth Skeletons (the ones summoned by the Tibia Mariner).

Soon, you’ll be at the palace’s gate where you’ll also find a map of the area. Past this point is a winding passageway with lots of skeletons (and some that will lunge at you before exploding).

Eventually, you’ll come across a cavern. Enter it and follow the path left. A Blood Sorcerer will spawn, so just take it out.

Likewise, you’ll spot a merchant sitting cozily in a corner. You can buy some Staunching Boluses, which would be helpful for the next bout.

Upon exiting, you’ll see another Site of Grace, as well as several mobs that are praying. Run up to the statue and open the chest for a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. Then, sprint back to the bonfire to reset aggro.

You should be able to ride the lift to the boss arena where you can fight Mohg Lord of Blood. We’ll discuss the encounter in the next part of our guide series.
