Elite Dangerous accounts won’t be wiped at launch

Fear not, keep playing until the game launches because your progress is safe.

In a brief and to the point update on the Elite Dangerous forums, Frontier quickly announced that there will be no account wipe which means if your’re on the bata you may as well start playing properly right now. The quick post reads:

“This is just a quick update to confirm that there won’t be a wipe at launch.”

This is great news and it means I can now get started. I had been holding off until launch just in case there would be a wipe. Peter has been getting stuck into the game properly now because he’ll be handling the review and it’s going to take some time to make sure he has everything covered.
