Ender Lilies secrets guide — Ancient Soul locations for the Umbral Knight

Powered-up protector.

The Umbral Knight is the first spirit to join you in your quest, and he also acts as your protector. Unlike the other skills in the game, this fella doesn’t use Furious Blights or Stagnant Blights. Instead, you’ll need to find Ancient Souls to enhance his capabilities. Here’s our guide to help you find all the Ancient Soul locations for the Umbral Knight in Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights.

Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights secrets guide – Where to find Ancient Souls for the Umbral Knight

Five Ancient Souls are required to upgrade the Umbral Knight from level 1 to level 6. When the spirit skill is fully maxed out, it deals higher damage and can unleash a multi-hit combo by continuously pressing the corresponding button.

Ancient Soul #1 and 2: Catacombs

Although the Catacombs was the next area that I visited after defeating Dark Witch Eleine, it took me a while to figure out how to get the Ancient Souls here. Basically, there’s a large chamber to the right of the Charnel respite. You’ll find a lever beneath a pile of bones that should open the metal grate.

Use Gerrod’s ground smash from one of the higher ledges to break open the ground. You should be able to drop down to pull the lever. That opens the metal grate and, if you swim to the room down below, you’ll find 2x Ancient Souls.

Ancient Soul #3: Stockade

Take the bottom exit (grate) in the room to the left of the Execution Grounds respite in the Stockade zone.

Ancient Soul #4 and 5: Verboten Domain

This one is actually in the same room where you’ll find the Stone Tablet in the Verboten Domain. You can access it by doing a ground smash while in front of the strange dais in Subterranean Lab B4. Then, unlock the door using Faden’s power.

Beware because the next section is extremely deadly if you’re unprepared. Since you’ll be swimming through Blighted waters, you’ll need a lot of relics such as the Heretic’s Mask, as well as those that boost HP and Healing Prayers.

Once you make it to the secret room, you’ll find a Stone Tablet and a dead Umbral Knight. You’ll get to watch a short cinematic too.

You can use the portal to return to Subterranean Lab B4. Now that you have all five Ancient Souls, you can max out the Umbral Knight.
