Former Nintendo-Exclusive Sonic Lost Word, Now Coming to PC via Steam

Back in 2013, Nintendo announced a special three-game deal with SEGA, where the company would provide three brand new Sonic games exclusively for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
Today, it’s been announced that one of those games (and the best one at that), is no longer an exclusive.
Sonic Lost World was the biggest exclusive out of the three, considering that it was a canon title developed by SEGA’s own in-house studio, Sonic Team. Being a spiritual successor to Sonic Colors, another Nintendo-exclusive Sonic title from the last generation, it was a nice fit for Nintendo’s new systems, and even borrowed some gameplay idea’s from the Super Mario Galaxy games, although its success is rather controversial due to the low review scores it received from critics.
Interestingly enough, Mr. Takashi Iizuka, the head of Sonic Team, actually revealed in an interview back in 2013 that at the time of the game’s initial development, the Wii U wasn’t revealed yet, and thus, they were already working on a PC version:

“The Wii U hadn’t been revealed when development began for Sonic Lost World, so we were working on a PC version in order to see what kind of platformer we could make. Then, when we tried to think about which platform would be best for this game, we chose Nintendo.”

Now, the Wii U version of Lost World has been re-worked for a digital PC release via Steam. The new PC version will include the same 60 FPS gameplay from the Wii U version, as well as high-resolution textures, and full keyboard/gamepad support. In addition, those who pre-purchase the game will get a free copy of Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed. The title costs $29.99 with a release date of November 2nd.
You can head over to the Steam page and check it out.
