Stephane D’Astous, one of the founders of Eidos Montreal, and the man who conceived of the original Thief series, has joined Montreal-based studio Hibernium Creations.

Hibernium Creations calls itself a social gaming site, but it has worked on ‘hardcore’ console games like Batman: Armored Edition, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and various Assassin’s Creed games. In this capacity they have worked with Stephane in the past several times, so he may already know many of the people in the studio.
This promises to be a fresh start for Stephane, and perhaps he could direct the studio to publishing their own console games in the future. We wish Stephane and the people in Hibernium the best of luck.
