Genshin Impact: Best Lyney team comps

Every magician needs their assistants.

Genshin Impact has a huge collection of characters, accessible to all players, with a mix of strong 4-star and 5-star characters. Lyney is a 5-star character introduced in Version 4.0 of Genshin Impact, arriving with the arrival of Fontaine, Genshin Impact‘s fifth world. Lyney is a main DPS character, meaning he’ll do the majority of the damage on your team. Additionally, Lyney’s passive increases his damage based on the number of Pyro units on his team, which also impacts who you want to pair with Lyney. Here’s our guide on some of the best team comps for Lyney in Genshin Impact.

Lyney is a 5-star Pyro Bow character and can be summoned on the Limited Event Wish banner when he is a featured character. When he’s not a featured character on a special banner, you cannot summon Lyney. As a 5-star character, Lyney periodically receives re-runs, so keep an eye out for when Lyney will be featured next if you want to add him to your team. To best take advantage of Lyney’s strengths and kit in Genshin Impact, consider these team comps.

Lyney is a main DPS unit who deals a majority of his damage through charged shots. In terms of team building, Lyney’s passive allows him to deal 60% more damage against enemies affected by Pyro. This effect increases by 20% per Pyro unit on your team. The bonus for this damage caps out at 100%, meaning to fully maximize Lyney’s damage, you should pair him with two other Pyro units. Here are the best team comps for Lyney in Genshin Impact:

  • Lyney / Xiangling / Bennett / Zhongli: This is Lyney’s best team, and also one accessible for free-to-play players, as Xiangling and Bennett are easy to obtain for most free-to-play characters. Xiangling and Bennett are a notorious duo in Genshin Impact, dealing lots of damage as a pair already. Paired with Lyney, this team allows him to reach his 100% damage buff, while also getting extra damage from Xiangling and Bennett. Because of Lyney’s charged attack playstyle, a shielder like Zhongli is necessary.
  • Lyney / Xiangling / Bennett / Sangonomiya Kokomi: You will always want to pair Lyney with two Pyro units like Xiangling and Bennett for the damage buff, which makes his team comps a bit restrictive (albeit, accessible, due to Xiangling and Bennett being common 4-star characters.) Consider what you want for your final slot. While Kokomi does not provide interruption resistance like Zhongli, her heals and ability to Vaporize may make up for it.
