The Chalk Prince and the Dragon: Event mechanics and event shop
It’s time to talk about the event mechanics and the event shop for The Chalk Prince and the Dragon.
Go ahead and open the event panel and look at the details. You’ll notice that several acts and challenges are still unavailable.
They’ll go live on the following dates:
- “Archon’s Rival” and Testing Grounds challenge – December 25.
- “Raiders Amidst Snow Mist” and Draconic Pilgrimage challenge – December 28.
- “Uninvited Guests” and Frostborn Miracle challenge – December 31.
Note: As usual, you can expect these to go live during the daily reset at 4 a.m. server time depending on your chosen region.
As for the event shop, you’ll see three panels (one for each act/challenge). I’ll enumerate the rewards and costs below. Do keep in mind that the essences required for these items will come from a particular act/challenge.
Note: The item you’ll see below called the Festering Dragon Marrow is used to refine the Festering Desire sword.

It’s still too early to tell if these values are correct. We might see some changes once these challenges are live after Genshin Impact‘s daily resets.
Don’t forget that The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event is only available until January 5, 2021. However, the item shop will be open until January 12, 2021. You can spend the essences you’ve got left, though you wouldn’t have the means of acquiring more.
Anyway, there’s also another factor to consider during The Chalk Prince and the Dragon event. It’s all about the Festering Desire sword.
