Genshin Impact: How to get Crystal Cores

Where's a bug net when you need one?

Crystal Cores are one of the most-used crafting materials next to ores and cooking ingredients. Because of how important they are, here’s a guide on how to get Crystal Cores in Genshin Impact.

They’re most commonly used for making Condensed Resin or potions. Here are a few areas where you can find Crystal Cores painlessly.

Crystal Cores can only be obtained by catching Crystalflies. There are tons of Crystalfly spawn locations all around Teyvat, but the ones around the Dawn Winery in Mondstadt are arguably the best. This is mostly because these spots are accessible to all players very early on in the game.

The first Crystalfly spawn location is directly on top of the Statue of the Seven overlooking the mansion. As soon as they teleport to this fast-travel node, players should be able to catch two or three of the flies in the area before they fly away.

Next, head straight for the mansion and glide down into the grapevines. There are four to five Crystalflies fluttering about the general area. Make sure to pass through the entirety of the plantation so as not to miss any of them.

Crystalflies take about two whole days in real life to respawn. To get some more in an early-game area, head to Liyue Harbor and climb up to the teleport waypoint up Mt. Tianheng. There is a cave to the northwest of this point that houses a bunch of Geo Crystalflies.

Take out the Hilichurls guarding the entrance and get ready to do a lot of jumping. We recommend climbing up the cave wall and gliding downward to catch the Crystalflies. These creatures will start flying away when players go near them, which just makes Crystal Core farming that much harder. Sayu somewhat negates this thanks to her passive that lets her walk up to Crystalflies without alerting them.

However, snatching one of them from the air will still cause the other nearby flies to panic and flutter away. Kazuha and Venti are also great party members to have since they both have abilities that support vertical movement.

For players who have Inazuma and Sumeru unlock, these two areas are also very good for farming Crystal Cores. Amakumo Peak on Seirai Island has a bunch encircling the peak, while Vourukasha Oasis in the Realm of Farakhert has some littered around this vast area.
