We’re getting close to the release of The Sims 4 Discover University, and to educate you on what the expansion has in store, there’s a brand new gameplay trailer. It basically whirls you through the plot of every university-based romantic comedy ever made in under two minutes.
The new gameplay trailer is similar to the reveal trailer we saw last month. But it comes with a very informative voice-over that confirms all the things you’ll be able to do in The Sims 4 Discover University expansion. Although, there are sure to be some surprises waiting for you in-game.
The best years of your life
The Sims 4 Discover University gameplay trailer gives us a look at three different dorm room designs. It’s incredible how different you can make a tiny little room look with the different furniture and décor you’ll somehow be able to pay for. The trailer doesn’t mention anything about part-time jobs, but they’ll likely be part of the game. They are, after all, a quintessential part of the university experience. For most people. If there’s a secret money cheat in the game, it should totally be “trust fund.”
The gameplay trailer also gives us a look at the balancing act you, like all university students before you, will need to perform. You need to study, but you also need to party. Not want to party — need to party. It looks like you’ll start the game off with a scholarship. But if your time on campus leads you astray, you’ll lose your scholarship and be forced to participate in another quintessential university experience: student loans.
There is a whole lot more detail on the universities you can attend, the classes you can take, and what life on campus entails on the EA blog.
What happens in university, stays in university
The most exciting-looking parts of The Sims 4 Discover University are when the game gets a bit weird. There are situations like when your interest in robotics turns into a Terminator situation, with robots wanting to take over the world. Or when you start to immerse yourself in a secret society. These elements of the game are the most surprising and interesting. You never know what might happen. Hopefully, there are a lot more of these quirky paths to explore in the game.
The Sims 4 Discover University comes out on November 15. You can preorder it now through Origin.
