If you always wanted to drive around Tokyo while listening to a soundtrack made by the Teriyaki Boyz, you will be interested to hear that Rockstart had visited Japan couple years ago in order to check out the city for a GTA game that would be based in Tokyo.

According to TechRadar’s story, a source close to Rockstar stated that GTA: Tokyo was really in talks, but the plans were initially cancelled because of various difficulties of moving the series outside the US. They even visited Tokyo in order to check out the city regarding this project.

The source close to Rockstar also confirmed that GTA 6 is in development, which should not surprise anyone, since usually a game like this needs 4-5 years of development. We waited almost 5 years for GTA 5 to come out after GTA 4, so playing the new GTA in 2019 would be just a normal process.

How do you think about the idea of playing GTA in a city like Tokyo? Would you be interested in witnessing Rockstar’s satire with the Japanese culture being in the center of it? Let us know in the comment section below.
