Out of all the 4-star characters in Honkai: Star Rail, Tingyun is one of the best. Tingyun is the head of a merchant guild on Xianzhou Luofu, and she’s a Lightning user with the Path of The Harmony. If you’re yearning for a character who can buff others’ attacks, as well as fight on their own, she is the way to go. We’ll explain the best build for Tingyun in Honkai: Star Rail, and what Relics, Light Cones, Eidolons and Abilities to use for her.

Light Cones

Tingyun occupies the Path of The Harmony, which centers around boosting your team’s offensive abilities. There are three possible Light Cones that are a perfect fit for her. If you’re looking for a good starter Light Cone, pick the 3-star one called ‘Chorus‘. Once you enter a battle, this Light Cone increases the ATK of all your allies. At Superimposition level five, the percentage can reach up to 12% ATK boost.

A 4-star Light Cone that could also work for Tingyun is ‘Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds‘. It has her picture on it, after all. With this Light Cone, one out of a few effects is applied at the start of every battle. Either it increases all allies’ ATK, CRIT DMG, or Energy Regeneration Rate. Although this is a gamble, it can provide a pretty good variety of boosts per battle.

The best 5-star Light Cone for Tingyun is ‘But The Battle Isn’t Over‘. This one can increase her Energy Regeneration Rate—you want to use her Ultimate as much as possible—and also regenerate one Skill Point if you use her Ultimate on an ally. Also, when Tingyun uses her Skill, the next ally deals a ton more DMG in one turn. If you unlock this Light Cone, giving it to Tingyun is a must.

Relics

Since Honkai: Star Rail hasn’t been out for too long, there are only so many relics that work per character. For now, using the ‘Musketeer of Wild Wheat Relic set‘ is best. It helps boost her ATK with two pieces, and with four, increases ATK DMG and SPD.

Once you unlock Planar Ornaments, you should choose from either the ‘Space Sealing Station‘, or the ‘Fleet of the Ageless‘ set. While the former increases ATK, the latter can increase Max HP, as well as increase allies’ ATK.

Abilities

When upgrading Tingyun’s abilities in the Traces screen, you’ll want to focus on her Ultimate and Skill. If you focus on the Ultimate, you’ll be able to boost your allies’ Energy and DMG greatly. Her Skill is also very important, as her high level abilities can extremely boost your team’s offense. Unlocking Stat Bonuses and Talent upgrades should also be prioritized over her Basic Attack.

Eidolons

Eidolons aren’t critical for adding to Tingyun’s abilities, but are still nice when you have them. They focus on boosting her Benediction, which is granted by her Skill. Nearly each Eidolon upgrades her Skill, which is crucial to use during tense fights. While ‘Windfall of Lucky Springs‘ boosts SPD when hit with Benediction, the fourth Eidolon ‘Jovial Versatility‘ provides a DMG multiplier.
