What is the Global Distribution Error in Honkai Star Rail

While the name may suggest a fatal error of worldwide proportions and you might as well hope the apocalypse isn’t upon us, the truth is that the Global Distribution Error is just a common error that encompasses several issues regarding connection. Now, when I say “encompasses” it is because there are many reasons that could be preventing you from connecting to Honkai Star Rail. You might be having some connection issues or the game’s servers may be overloaded. Since Global Distribution Error is a broad term, there are a lot of things you can attempt to do to fix it.

Honkai Star Rail: How to fix Global Distribution Error

  • Visit the Honkai Star Rail X official handle. This should be your first step whenever you are encountering the Global Distribution Error. The developers will post any upcoming server maintenance or report server issues. Check their X handle frequently so you can confirm whether the issues are happening on their side or your own.
  • Restart your PC or mobile device. This can be a really easy fix that will make your experience a bit faster since you will close certain processes that may be impacting your game’s performance.
  • Restart your router. This will clear the bandwidth and solve some additional errors.
  • Use an ethernet connection. Using a wired connection will ensure a more stable connection.
  • Close any background apps or processes. The connection may be faulty because your PC or mobile might have some applications or processes that are using a good chunk of your bandwidth. To correct that, close your browser, other game clients, and anything that might be putting some extra stress on your connection.
  • Don’t use VPNs. While you might be enjoying certain region-exclusive content, a VPN connection will only slow down your internet connection in the long run.
  • Disable your firewall or anti-virus. Either could be preventing your game from connecting to the internet in an attempt to protect your system. Alternatively, you can add Honkai Star Rail as an exception.
  • Update your game, system, and/or GPU drivers. Whether you are playing on PC or mobile, new versions are rolled out from time to time, so check for any pending updates. The same applies to your OS. Moreover, if you are on a PC, you might want to update your GPU drivers, since some users report this could also be a reason for the error to pop out.
