Once Human: How does PvP work?

The first thing you need to know about PVP in Once Human is that you can’t automatically compete against other players; instead, you must work for it. To activate PVP in Once Human, you have to reach level 10 and enter a Chaos State. This guide discusses how to enter a Chaos state further down.

PVP is a lot of fun in Once Human as it’s not mainly about gunfights but a battle to take each other’s resources. On the other hand, PVE is all about dungeon diving and finding your resources. For example, if you are looking for rare materials, you will have the best chance to find them in PVP rather than PVE, especially if you are looting from a higher-ranked player. Remember that you could lose some valuable loot from other players in PVP, so play at your own risk.

How to enter a Chaos State in Once Human

Entering a Chaos State in Once Human is straightforward; all you need to do is reach level 10 and hold down the P key on the keyboard. After holding down the P key and entering a Chaos State, you will be able to team up with or fight against other Chaos players. Keep in mind that you will be removed from non-Chaos teams.

While you may want to hop into a Chaos State immediately upon hitting level 10 in Once Human, I would advise against it. There is a lot to learn in this open-world survival game, and considering PVP is very competitive, it may be best to explore the world as much as possible and upgrade your gear before hopping into a Chaos State.

Starting in Once Human can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be if you check out our guides. Head over to our guide on weapon colors, so you know which ones are more valuable.
