You're on a timer, and they know it.

The Whisper is a brutal mission, and the time limit makes it nerve-wracking. If the trio of nasties have you stumped, here’s How to beat The Three Taken Bosses in Whisper Exotic Mission in Destiny 2.

While most of the Whisper Exotic mission can easily be tackled solo, the boss fight is a different ball game. As you enter the arena (pictured above), prioritize clearing all the mobs out of the area.

I made many mistakes in this battle as I rushed and wasted more time on silly deaths than I had to. Take your time clearing out the enemies and use cover around the arena.

There are protected corridors on either side, which are great for recovering your health. The downside is you’ll face a ton of concentrated fire if you just peek from here for the encounter.

Destroy the Oracles

When all the enemies are defeated, you can plant a Rally Banner in the middle of the arena. The Rally Banner gives your Fire Team ammo and Energy and is a great help in the upcoming battle.

To spawn the Taken Bosses, shoot the three Oracles (white cubes) near the middle of the arena by the Banner.

Beat the bosses

You can play this part of the encounter using the same strategy you used for the regular enemies. The side corridors are your lifeline in the battle, as the enemies can’t follow you inside. Save your heavy ammo for the bosses, but I recommend keeping the mobs under control with your primary weapon.

I used the Polaris Lance for this encounter, as I’m a Solar Titan, but any punchy Scout Rifle will help massively here. The arena is so large you can engage at a long range from safety. The bosses don’t have any special abilities, but they do have a massive health pool.

If you’re playing with a team, I recommend not huddling around the same corridor entrance. If you do, every enemy on the map will shoot at it, and it’s a nightmare to return fire. I saved my rockets and supers for the bosses, and they eventually went down without much trouble.

Respawns aren’t restricted, so it’s not the end of the world if you die, although it does waste time. I completed this encounter as a duo in just under 5 minutes, so you can take that into account as you’re against the clock.

The Whisper Exotic quest is a fantastic addition to Destiny 2, but don’t forget to try the Onslaught mode for some awesome, unique rewards.
