Genshin Impact: How to break the chains that bind Scylla

With the 4.6 update of Genshin Impact, you’ll be able to explore an underwater area connected to The Last Day of Remuria quest. As you navigate the underwater region, you’ll find Scylla trapped and locked away with three chains. Each of these chains has to be dealt with differently, and some are harder to figure out than others.

So let’s break down how to face each of the chains.

Battle chain

By heading to the southern region of the Sea of Bygone Eras you’ll be led into a cave. Here there will be a handful of golems that need to be taken care of. This might be easy but it seems Geo characters like Navia who have shields which can help out quite a bit. Once the area is all clear, use your Symphony Skill on the chain to break it.

Trust chain

Next, make your way to the northwestern section of the Sea of Bygone Eras. There should be some more golems that you might have to deal with. However, the twist is that you won’t need to fight them. Instead, you’ll need to solve a puzzle. If you’re anything like me and have a hard time figuring out the puzzles in Genshin Impact, this one might just be as confusing as looking for a way to open the sealed door in the An Expected Lie quest.

You should use the answers below to get the questions right.

  • The Sebastos do not permit the harm of innocent people.
  • Yet you are receiving the melody.
  • Phobos’s silence signifies rejection.

If you answer everything correctly, the golems shouldn’t be a problem anymore. Just like the first chain, use your Symphony skill to break the chain holding Sylla.

Puzzle chain

The last chain is a little more complicated as there is very little dialogue or none at all for that matter. By going to the east of the Sea of Bygone Eras there will be four octapuses around a bunch of flowers. The goal is to make the flowers light up. By using your Symphony skill, stop the octopuses when the circular barrier covers the flowers it patrols. For example, there will be an octopus circling two flowers. Wait for its barrier to envelop the two flowers. Once that’s done, use your Symphony skill to match the musical note on top of the octopus. If done right, the flowers will start to glow. There will be a few others in the area close by, repeat the steps above for the rest.

After all the flowers are lit up, you can use the Symphony skill to break the final chain.
